Frequently Asked Questions

I often schedule a free 15 minute exploratory call, usually through zoom or facetime, to give us the opportunity to meet, discuss what you’re looking for, and answer any questions you might have about me or my practice. From there, you can decide if you’d like to schedule a session.

Finding the right therapist is very personal. A very skilled therapist may still not be the right person for you. This can make finding the right therapist a challenge, and some people choose to interview several therapists or have a few sessions to make their own assessment. I welcome this, and want to make sure you find the right person for you, even if that’s not me. The research shows that the quality of the relationship between client and the therapist is actually more important in determining the treatment outcome than the modality of therapy being practiced. A good fit is key!

I do not bill any insurance companies directly. For people who have PPO insurance, I can generate a “superbill” that you can submit to the insurance company. The reimbursement depends on your plan and your deductible. If you’re not familiar with this protocol, I’m happy to answer questions you might have.

My standard fee is $350 for a 50 minute session. I offer a sliding scale fee based on financial need as I value making therapy available to individuals who are committed to doing the work. This is usually discussed in an exploratory call.

My experience is that weekly therapy works best. When we meet less frequently, it can take a lot longer to understand what’s happening and result in spending a lot of time “catching up” on what’s happened since the last session. There can always be exceptions but weekly is usually a good place to start.

It depends on what you’re working on. My goal isn’t to keep you in therapy as long as possible, but to get you to a place where you can head out into the world feeling capable. That being said, we can discuss what you’re looking to address and I can give you my best estimate.
My office is located in Studio City on Laurel Hills Road. I’m often accompanied by my small and affectionate therapy dog, Millie.
I sometimes use scents in the office, including incense. If you have sensitivities to light, sound, smell, or other aspects of the sensory environment—or if there is anything I can do to make the space more comfortable for you—please let me know. I’m happy to make reasonable accommodations whenever possible.
I also offer telehealth sessions.
